November 3 (Tue) 5-9pm: Bedford Education Foundation Fundraiser, Flatbread Co., 213 Burlington Rd, Bedford, MA. Eat pizza and a portion of the price of your pie goes to BEF.

November 3 (Tue) 7-9pm: Building Resilience in Young Children, LEAP School, 376 Concord Rd., Bedford, MA. Seminar presented by Dr. Rachel Kramer will present activities and parenting techniques designed to foster resiliency in toddlers and preschoolers. Discussion will focus on how to teach young children healthy ways to manage stress and on strategies for improving children’s coping skills.

November 4 (Wed): Bedford Unplugged event, town-wide, Bedford, MA. No homework, no town meetings, no sports.

November 5 (Thu) 7-8:30pm: Effective Parent-Teacher Conferences, A Place to Grow, 402 Concord Rd., Bedford, MA. Parents will learn to understand the key components necessary to promote a positive parent-teacher partnership. Parents will learn specific strategies to use at parent-teacher conferences so
that they can become an effective advocate for their child’s needs. Target: parents of preschoolers through 5th grade. CANCELLED.

November 16 (Mon) 7-8:30pm: Executive Function in Adolescents talk by Peg Dawson, Bedford High School multi-purpose room (H207), Mudge Way, Bedford, MA. Presentation includes an overview of executive function skills and a discussion of how the brain develops in adolescence as well as practical intervention strategies for students with weaknesses in executive function skills. Peg Dawson specializes in the assessment of children and adults with learning and attention disorders. Bedford SEPAC. For more info, contact Berni.

November 20 (Fri) 7pm: Family Movie Night with BEST, Lane School Gymnasian, 66 Sweetwater Ave., Bedford, MA. See the movie Up, rated PG. Free event for Davis and Lane students and their families. BEST/PTO. Bring blankets or sleeping bags for kids to sit on the floor. Chairs will be set up for parents.
