Presentation/Storage (Tomobako) Boxes

 Hand made Boxes for bowls and small vessels, brushes and other artwork. These were inspired by  but not quite the same as the traditional Japanese Tomobako boxes used to store art.  Click thumbnails for large image.

 All current boxes are hand  built either from eastern knotty white pine in two styles or Solid 1/2" thick Maple.

# 1 - 5.5" square exterior, 4.7" square interior, solid 3/8"  to 1/2" inch knotty pine.  

# 2 - 6" square exterior,  5.3" square interior, 3/8" laminated knotty pine.

# 3 - 6" square exterior, - 5.5" square interior, solid 1/2" thick maple.

# 4 - 9"h x 6" square exterior, - 8"h x 5.5" square interior, solid 1/2" thick maple.

# 5 - 12.5" or 14.5" long x 3" square OD - 12" or 14" ID brush box, velvet floor solid 1/4" thick maple.

# 6 - 10, 12 or 14" long x 2.5" square  OD  - 9.5, 11.5, 13.5" x 2" ID - brush box, velvet floor solid 1/4" thick maple.

LL box is offered for a limited time to coincide with the exhibition of Lynda Lowe's work.

All boxes are slotted on 4 sides at the bottom for tying ribbon.

These boxes  were Inspired by the Tomobako - the all-important box for Japanese artwork and are built here in Massachusetts. 

Available with or without signature, writing or ribbon. Custom made boxes of different sizes and various woods including: solid pine, oak, cherry, maple, mahogany, and birch.
