The Yangtze ran through three large and beautiful gorges. A more scenic area was the three gorges which are part of a tributary running into the Yangtze. As the level of the reservoir rises to its level of 175 meters this area is suffering even greater damage. Soon there will be little to see as the farms go under water and people are moved out.
