Plaza Francia

The picture above is from Plaza Francia which is rarely climbed but has a dozen routes.  Can you find a single route from here that looks even remotely safe?

Today we take a hike up to Plaza Francia at 4200m (13780ft) for acclimatization and incredible views of the 9000ft north wall of Aconcagua.  This is a nice acclimatization day and I really enjoyed it.  The weather is perfect.  At the end of the day we go to the nurse where they monitor our blood oxygen content, pulse, blood pressure and lungs.  I check out fine and feel great.

The hiking I am enjoying, the rest I am not and it is beginning to stress on me.  With my gear I could make things more comfortable and enjoyable.  Not only do I not have my gear, but even if I did have it I know I would have wanted to pack those extra items of clothing for flexibility and food to supplement the food that I am not enjoying.  When I am hiking I can forget these problems, but the rest of the time it weighs on me like a ton of bricks.  Frank says relax, move forward and see how it goes.  LAN says my bag is still in Santiago.
