| 3rd Phase Recording Studios is my own private audio production studio
that I assembled for my enjoyment. I put this "hobby" studio together for a
couple of reasons: 1) I was tired of buying
poor quality consumer audio equipment with loose, erroneous specifications that did not
live up to it's advertising; and 2) because I have always had an interest
in professional broadcasting and recording. During my last year of college
(1978) I briefly
considered a job in the broadcast industry. I met with the Chief Engineer at WABC radio in New York City. He gave me a
great tour of their studios in Rockefeller Center, then gave me some good advice:
"think about doing something else". The broadcast and entertainment
industry is extremely volatile, and unless you have a relative in the business,
your employment can be instantly and unexpectedly "on" or "off".
I shelved my professional interest in broadcasting. Instead I took a job working as an engineer for the government.
I now practice audio recording and production as a hobby. I am a current
member of the Audio Engineering Society
and attend their annual conferences when held in New York
and Los Angeles, CA. Over time I also acquired some decent DJ/PA
equipment that I use to support Belmont Bay Homeowner's Association parties.
I am the chairman of their social committee. I have posted a few "gear" pages for your enjoyment.
