Flatboat Used in S. Hadley Canal
Some flatboats were about 70 feet long and 12 feet wide, with a capacity of 30 tons, some with seven men, three working on each side and the captain steering.

Glasgow Company

About 1864, the Glasgow Co. built a paper mill that in 1866 was sold to Edward Wells, and John Southworth, previous stockholders in the Glasgow Co., who organized the Hampshire Paper Co.
