This modern toy is an interpretation of what would likely have been produced by the firm of Steinfeldt & Blasberg based on pictures submitted with patents in the 1880's.  No original monkey has yet been found, however a French craftsman in 2000 produced a limited number of these brass plated toys to honor the original creators .  There have been very few resales of this toy so the values above are based on the original asking prices by the maker of this stunning treasure.
