ABOUT US

The mission of the COW Project is to inspire young people toward personal responsibility and autonomy, impacting positive change in their lives and in the world through the process of creative self-expression, collaboration, performance events, community service, fundraising, and special projects.

The COW Project has a diverse membership. Students from varied cultural, academic and socio-economic backgrounds are committed to working together, expressing themselves in an effort to create a more kind and peaceful world.

COW students have been working to break through their own cultural and social stereotypes within the group, and to deepen friendships and understanding.  Through intimate life skills workshops, 'rap sessions,' ongoing trust-building experiences and writing sessions, we are opening our eyes to discover how much we all have in common - with our personal struggles, relationships, concerns, hopes and dreams, experiences - learning that we all share a passionate desire to experience that we each matter, that others matter. Together, we are changing our world, one mind at a time, one heart at a time, one life at a time...

“What We STAND For”
Created by members of the COW Project, November 2009

WE ARE CHANGING OUR WORLD...
From a world where...
People take life for granted...
to a world where people appreciate life and each other

From a world where...
Families are stressed out, overworked and disconnected…
to a world where families get along with each other & work things out

From a world where...
People are not caring toward each other....
to a peaceful world where people go out of their way to help one another

From a world where...
People won't change or won't give change a chance....
To a world where people respect themselves and are responsible for their own actions

THIS is what we stand for in COW...and what we will remember is important when we are with our families & friends, in school, and out in the world. Starting with ourselves first....we will make these changes and give up being afraid to change.

COW PROJECT CURRENT & FORMER MEMBERS - the COW Project Legacy

Kory - W.T.H.S. Class of 2007; History Major/Journalism Minor - West Chester Univ., Class of 2011; I joined COW in the fall of 2005 because because I was looking for a new activity, and I wanted to participate in the 2005 COW tolerance play and hosting the Peace Child Israel delegation in 2006, which made a change in my life. COW made the last 2 years of my high school experience better than it would have been had I not joined. COW did change the lives of the many people who I knew.

Carmina - I've been in COW for 2 years. My first intention of The COW Project was just to have fun and try something new. I have really benefited from COW because it just really opened my eyes to reality. I realized from COW that EVERYONE in life struggles. I also learned that you can't judge people by their outer appearance because you need to get to know a person before you use your eyes as your mind. COW teaches you not to be afraid to speak up. So stop just sitting around and watching innocent people getting bullied, and do something. It's a tremendous honor to be a part of COW, which has touched so many lives. Come and join COW - you won't have any regrets!
