CAPTAIN NATHANIEL McLEAN'S SENIOR
RESERVES |
In the year 1864 there were several companies of Senior Reserves,
created
here in southeastern North Carolina. One of those companies raised
which
was located primarily in Robeson and Richmond Counties was under the
leadership of Captain Nathaniel McLean of Lumberton.
Upon enlistment the men the enrolling officer with the following
information: When born [usually Month and year, but some would give the
actual date]; birth place; Height [feet and inches]; Complexion; color
of
hair and eyes;and occupation. The following is a list of those men
which
served in Captain Nathaniel McLean's Company of Senior Reserves:
