History

Adaptive Living is a rehabilitation engineering company owned and operated by Robert Van Etten since 1985 today serving the Southern region of Florida. The goal of Adaptive Living is to assist individuals with disabilities to achieve independence through technology. This independence is achieved when appropriate assistive technology is applied so that an individual with a disability is able to independently function at home or school, on the job, in commercial facilities and places of public accommodation, and when using public or private transportation. Clients are served at the Adaptive Living fully accessible location or at the individual’s home, school, work-site, or hospital facility. The technology involved includes; computer hardware and software, environmental controls, augmentative communication aids, seating and mobility aids, transportation vehicles, lifts, and elevators.

Adaptive Living is also the producers of the ErgoChair for Little People. The ErgoChair for Little People has been on the market since 1994. The ErgoChair for Little People is one of the only custom designed office chair for persons of short stature.
