Mamoru Nagano's
is a science-fiction manga series with interstellar empires, giant
robots, and political intrigue.
A sample story introduction and some poorly-translated dialog is below. When I first translated this, I had some confusion about which characters were which and who was speaking. Thanks to Naoki Hada <HGG01341@niftyserve.or.jp> for helping me with this and other corrections.

Apache VS Auge - the Final Conclusion
Introduction to the story:
East, West, South, North. In the four-star-system known as the Joker Star Cluster, countless nations were in conflict. Men and women decided international strife by the battles of gigantic robot warriors, Mortar Hedds, operated by superhuman knights, Hedd Liners, and their partners who were computer girls, Fatimas.
In stardate 2992, in the West star system, Both, the Kastepou region visitor Ladyus Sopp was shot by something. He lost his original powers and could not regenerate himself as formerly, but LED Dragon's spawn, Suezou, was waiting to show him the "Water of Life" which Sopp used to regenerate himself.
After that, Sopp reunited with Apropos, who had pursued the unrecovered Sopp on the orders of Bradford. Now, in the MH "Auge Aluusqull" on her own, Atropos is challenged to battle.
Dialog from the beginning of the story, as two giant robots Apache and Auge fight... Atropos, the fatima, is directing Auge through a telepathic helmet from within the robot. Her master, Ladious Sopp, is watching from the sidelines, sending her orders telepathically. Bradford is in Apache with Kyou, his fatima.
Bradford: "My system is causing no problems?"
Kyou: "Yes!"
Kyou: "It assists me perfectly! Go ahead and do what
you want!"
Kyou (thinking): "Blast! It looks like the head's going to break!"
Kyou (thinking): "How can you call yourself a Fatima if you don't take
the star for your master?"
Kyou (thinking): "The head is about to break!"
Kyou (thinking): "My mind is about to collapse!"
Kyou (thinking): "You must concentrate!"
Kyou (thinking): "Victory is surely our destiny! All for the master!"
Auge slashes with its beam sword at Apache. Apache parries with a shield, but the sword cuts through it.
Sopp:
"You're close! Disconnect the other hand and you've won!"
The sword cuts into Apache's left arm.
Atropos:
"The sword's stuck in the arm....... My willpower can't pull it out...!"
Apache hits Auge with a terrific right jab, breaking its own hand but rocking the other robot back.
Sopp:
"T-t-t-t-that was impossible!"
(faintly)
"I never thought of that...!"
Apache grabs Auge and starts pushing it backwards.
Atropos:
"Oh no! I'm losing control..."
Apache prepares to slash Auge with its beam sword. Auge is losing its footing.
Sopp:
"The cleats...t-they're not working...!"
Kyou:
"We won! Master, it's over!"
Spirit voice:
"Won't you please stop? Kyou!! That is enough!"
Kyou turns and sees a glowing spirit on the battlefield.
Spirit:
"Your victory is well-completed.
She tried to pull the sword out... she could not do more than that."
Kyou:
"Elder sister Queen!!"
"Master, stop..."
Bradford, in the Apache
"Go back where you came from!!" (Lit. "Get back! Your start!!").
With a mighty blow, Apache knocks Auge over.
Bradford:
"And now to finish it off!"
Kyou:
"Mas...ter..."
Auge crashes to the ground. Atropos leaps out in an acrobatic tumble.
Bradford:
"Well, I won't let the girl escape either. It looks like I can..."
He shoots a laser at the fleeing Atropos, but misses.
Sopp:
"We loooossst!"
"Retreat!"
(Sopp runs).
Queen:
"The king of great Kasteppou...
congratulation on your reincarnation."
Queen vanishes. Bradford, outside of Apache, looks at the ruined Auge.
Bradford:
"Magnificent..." (He sees a power pack dressed in a shirt on the ground.)
"Unusual 'body'..."
"I must investigate anyway, but I knew there was something strange
about the way that MH was moving."
Bradford:
"Sometimes it is better not to know..."
"Anyway, we'll see when Lord Bro's people come..."
"How did she do it..."
Auge begins to tick, and suddenly explodes into a blaze of fire. Bradford dives for cover.
Bradford:
"It has a self-destruct..."
Suddenly there is a louder click, and an even bigger blast of fire from Auge.
Bradford:
"Demi-flare napalm!!"
"There was that much of a secret to guard!! Something inside it!"
Atropos runs down an underground tunnel after Sopp.
Atropos:
"I'm sorry...I'm very sorry, Auge. Sorry! Sorry...!"
Sopp:
"Atropos, are you all right?"
Atropos:
"Please forgive me! Please forgive me, Lord Sopp!"
Sopp:
"It's all right. You couldn't help it. You went through fire for me."
Atropos
"Thank you, it must have been hard for you..."
"But... but..."
Sopp
"I'm just glad you weren't hurt."
Atropos
"Lord Sopp..."
Sopp
"The Mirage was defeated in fair combat and I have no complaint.
And as for Auge, I may be able to build it for you again.
It was almost completely reduced to ash, but the two leg engines
should be all right. Well, we have hard times ahead."
Atropos
"We had better be getting out of here."
Back on the surface, Bradford looks at the burned-out Auge.
Bradford:
"There are 10 kilometers of underground passages..."
"As good as I am, I can't track them by myself."
