First trip in the White Mountains. Louie wasn't ready to be picked up in Lowell when Dave, Mark, and Steve showed up. He had gotten "lucky" the night before. This was a cold trip with poor equipment. Not much sleep was had. Lot's of snow on ground which formed large snow bowl/fire pit. Somebody defecated on the frozen river, which was later used by cross country skiers. Toilet paper was snagged on skiers skis. A tree was "pulled" down using rope. Tree fell towards the pullers, a-la Looney Tunes. They couldn't run fast enough to get out of the way. Nobody got hurt. A big cabin tent was rented along with red plastic snowshoes from Natick Outdoor Store. Louie brought beer - It froze solid. It is obvious that Louie is not a good worker and fails to pull his own weight! Mark gets a speeding ticket on the way home. |
