No Billy this year - Julie is the reason!!!

No Steve this year - moved to Utah to attend school.

The BIG event of the year is the creation of an igloo. There was about two feet of snow on the ground. There was rain the week before the trip which resulted in a crust of ice on top of the snow. The crust was several inches thick. Using the machetes, blocks of ice/snow were carved and moved to the igloo location. The igloo was built on top of the existing crust level. This allowed us to remove the crust from inside the igloo creating a floor lower than the outside crust level. A "bench" was left around the inside perimeter. As each block was put into place, water was used to fuse the blocks together. The dome didn't form up too well. A series of sticks that were criss-crossed provided support for blocks of ice/snow to be placed onto of igloo as a roof. Small sticks were collected and placed in the middle of igloo floor. Woof was used to start the fire. This proved not to be very wise. Being inside a relatively closed area, the fumes had no where to go. The woof went "WHHOOOFFF". Nobody was hurt, but the quick burning fumes had everyone pinned to the walls of the igloo, until some fresh air could get in.

The roof of the igloo was solid enough to support several people.
Bob Davis provided much color. He said to Murray "If we were in prison, you would be my wife".

Hatchet throwing contest was won by Mark Dearborn.

Mark Dearborn and Murray hiked out and drove to liquor store for additional Tequila. This was frowned upon by others.

While sitting around the campfire, Dave tosses a handful of flash powder into fire. Bill and Mike are knocked back by the surprise and take several minutes to recover. A good laugh was had by all.

Davis' sleeping bag was a bit tight. He used Mikes extra blanket the following night and was appreciative.

Dave passed out and was available for our amusement.

First sign of pre-cooked, freeze-dried food.

Day hike to "Fool-Killer" by Dave, Mark and Murray. Hike ended fifty feet from top due to ice. Return hike involved the "slide for life"
down ice covered slope.

Marks's hammer is recovered this year and is burned.

Mike and Bill Laun hike back to site in May. The collapsed roof of igloo, with criss-crossed sticks was found as well as Murray's water jug. The jug is returned
