Tommy
had to come in late. Billy and Mark hike out Friday night to meet
him.
Many pyrotechnics were at hand. A low-flying helicopter appeared during
the twilight hours following the use of bottle rockets and other airborne
implements Was this just coincidence??
After the helicopter left, we were talking about being kicked out
of the woods by a park ranger, when a man hiked into camp. This caused
an adrenaline rush in all. He was just someone who was following the
trail, came across us and wanted to verify the trail's direction.
He had become confused with the actual trail and our paths in the
snow. We sent him in the right direction. It was getting dark and
he had another hour and a half in front of him. Apparently he made
it. He did not appear to have a flashlight or snowshoes. The next
morning we noticed other footprints. He was not alone. We wonder why
they all didn't come to the campfire. He must have lost the coin toss.
Memories have faded!!!! |
