The Candidates ...

58 Ply - Green

58 Ply - White

These three pictures, all from 1987, show the cars I was considering in my search for the right 1958 Plymouth. The tan one was the most likely candidate, since it was the only one that I drove and personally inspected. I sent the owner a deposit, but it was sold before she received the check. I was pissed !
Above:  Minnesota - Original Misty Green hardtop. Engine frozen. Pulled out of the woods.

Right: Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Original Misty Green Conv, now painted white. Wrong engine, bucket seats and floor shift from another car.

Below: Southern New Jersey - Original Copperglow painted tan. Ran and drove (barely).
58 Ply - Brown

... and the Winner !

Right: Hayward, CA - 1958 Plymouth Belvedere freshly painted in it's original Sunflower Yellow and Iceburg White paint scheme. The car ran and drove fairly well. After some thought, I bought it 1988, based on this and other pictures. I had it sent via car carrier to New Jersey, where I picked it up and drove it to my home in Connecticut. Yellow 58 Ply - the Winner !
