Welcome to Linda's Sewing Room Linda's sewing room was created late in 1998. Before that, Linda's Sewing Room was the kitchen, living room, dining room or where ever there was room. Now, we live in Florida, we've converted one of the bedrooms to LINDA'S SEWING ROOM. Even now, much of her work is done while sitting in front of the TV, on an airplane or while on vacation. Linda's Sewing Room is the place where Holiday Gifts are created for her children, grandchildren and other people that Linda decides are deserving. Quilts, Crocheted Items, Knit Items, and Sewing are her specialties. Linda has made many beautiful quilts since she first started. They have gone to her favorite people. A couple of them have even stayed here on Thurlow Street. This Puff Quilt was made for Meagan - our first grandchild - just after she was born. The technique of fabrication is somewhat different than the usual process. Since Meagan, our girls have all started families. Now there are 7 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and two new babies due in October 2000. Linda has made two of these Baby Quilts so far and has them on her gift list for the rest of babies. They are very beautiful and warm. Speaking of keeping the grandchildren warm. Linda whipped out this pair of children's slippers one day during last winter. They too are very warm and they too are on her gift list for the babies. She often makes several "Sun Bonnet Sue Air Freshener dolls for gifts at Christmas - and other Gift-Giving occasions. They are not only beautiful but useful as well. Some of Linda's finest work is done for Christmas. Combine that with her talent as a crochet artist and she has made some admirable creations. Mr. and Mrs. Claus are a fine example of this. She has made several of the Mrs. for various friends and relatives - but there is only one Mr. This is another example of knitting wizardry. She did this piece several years ago and it adds to the Christmas Spirit in our house year. To add to this years decorations, she quickly made pillows of colors and patterns in the Christmas Spirit. Another of her favorite creations is Mr. and Mrs. Elephant. They stayed here and are on display in our Thurlow Street home. They have been used for all our girls baby showers as well as many of their friends. She sews dolls and stuffed animals as well. We will include photos of some of these in a future "Linda's Sewing Room" update. This one she calls simply a "Sewn Bunny." It's very cute and fascinates all the granddaughters. (I plan a page for them soon.) Last - but certainly not least for this page is one of her latest, and most impressive, creations. This is a "white knit sweater" - but it is much more than that. The knit-in designs and patterns are not only intricate but very beautiful. Amazing... Back to the Home Page
