The Missing MusesAuthor: Rorie's Evil Twin Classification: H (extreme silliness) Author's Note: This is what comes of frustration with fanfic writer's bloc, and of spending too much time in the PPoS. Additional notes at the end.... Dedicated to 'Manda Kat, my bestest PPoS buddy, and Rach, who I hope has found her lost muses, too. Rorie is sitting in her room sulking 'cause her muses are still missing. Suddenly, there is a commotion in the hallway. She pokes her head out of the room. 'Manda Kat is standing there. "Hey, Rorie, I found your Scully!muse..." she says. "Well, where is she?" Rorie demands. 'Manda Kat blushes slightly, "Uhm.... well.... you see, she's sort of preoccupied right now." Rorie, being slightly dense this afternoon, says, "Well, go tell her to hurry up." 'Manda Kat blushes even deeper, "NO, I mean she's *preoccupied* right now. If you were in the mood to write some smutfic, she'd be the muse to pick." Understanding dawns in the slightly dense author's eyes, "Oh." she manages to squeak out. "Note to self: Keep Scully!muse and Mulder!clone separated while writing. Well, then how about my Mac!muse?" 'Manda Kat just blushes harder. Rorie, getting really impatient, demands, "Beverly? Deanna? Kathryn? B'ellana? Miss P? Sam? Rachel? Susan? Carol? Anna? Syd? Lois?" 'Manda Kat just nods her head and sighs. "Okay, that's it.... What about Monica? And, don't tell me she's *preoccupied* as well, 'cause angels don't do that...." "Oh, no, she's not... I saw her earlier, she's talking to someone's Kry!clone. She's trying to get him to see the error of his ways and embrace life instead of taking it. She's got a rather impressive 'light show' going on." Rorie sighs, "ThanX, 'Manda Kat." "No prob, Rorie." 'Manda Kat says as she heads off towards her room. Rorie makes a snap decision, and heads for the PPoS communications room. "Excuse me," she says to the operator on duty, "But I need to use the intercom... it's a matter of fic or death." The operator nods and moves out of the way. Rorie picks up the intercom mike and presses the engage button. "Attention in the PPoS... this message is directed at Rorie's muses... and I know you can hear me. If one of you, and preferably all of you, doesn't show up immediately, I'll start killing characters. And, you know that the first to go are usually the cute, helpless, little kids. And, Mac, you know I can do it. ::sound of evle laughter:: Everyone else, I'm sorry, but this was the only way to get their attention." Rorie hits the end button and puts the mike down. "ThanX." she says to the operator as she heads back towards her room to wait for her recalcitrant muses to show up. When she arrives, no one's there yet. "Okay, Scully, you're getting a relapse... we always knew that chip wouldn't last forever. Hey, Mac, how about a nice miscarriage? Susan, do you like seeing Mark kiss Elizabeth? Mwahahahaha!!" For the uninitiated: Beverly and Deanna are Dr. Beverly Crusher and Counselor Deanna Troi from Star Trek: The Next Generation. Kathryn and B'ellana are Capt. Kathryn Janeway and Lt. B'ellana Torres from Star Trek: Voyager. Miss P is Miss Parker from The Pretender. Sam and Rachel are Agents Samantha Waters and Rachel Burke from Profiler. Susan, Carol, and Anna are Dr. Susan Lewis, Nurse Carol Hathaway, and Dr. Anna DelAmico from ER. Syd is Dr. Sydney Hanson from Providence. Lois is Lois Lane from Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. Monica is the angel from Touched by an Angel. The PPoS stands for Padded Palace of Shippers... it's like an asylum for X-Files shippers... or a list at Yahoogroups. |
