[Excerpted from The Jerusalem Post]
A super-sized family holiday By David Shamah (April 1) - The Web is full of sites about Pessah, like http://www.holidays.net/passover/goodies.htm, where you can download PDF versions of the Haggadah, or http://www.neveh.org/pesach, where you can download a whole e-book on the laws and ideas of the holiday. Not so common, though, are Web sites about the Omer, the 49-day period between the beginning of Pessah and the following festival, Shavuot. It's easy to forget to count the Omer, but you'll find that you'll have a much easier time remembering if you count the "Homer!" At http://jvibe.com/homer/, Springfield's favorite family helps you count with a calendar featuring Homer, Bart and Rabbi Krustofsky (Krusty the Clown's father). The site explains what the Omer is all about, and clicking on each day of the calendar brings up the number of each Omer and a candid of Homer in poses from eating Matza to playing Pharaoh (there's also a link to download and print out your own Homer calendar). And, there's a bonus virtual tour of Jewish life in Springfield! (It's a lot more developed than you think). Use this calendar and you won't end up like Homer (as quoted at the site) "Now I know I haven't been the best Jew, but I have rented Fiddler on the Roof, and I will watch it."
