Editorial: Thomas Paine - Political Truths/Positives below!

    He is using the tea bag as a symbol to fire people up with a peaceful revolution.  I have made up an entire sheet of address labels for the senators and Obama and am sending tea bags daily to them all.  What this will cost you is nothing compared to the cost of this health plan.

    If we only complain or discuss over coffee and do nothing more, we can only blame ourselves for this continuing mess. You cannot spend your way out of debt, you have to stop spending. Simple principle; every single one of us is expected to do this as ordinary citizens, government can too. If you read on the White House’s website on what is allowed in mail, you will see that putting a real tea bag in a letter will cause it to be thrown out.  For that reason I have made up a letter with comments and a picture of a tea bag – same priniciple.  I will attach what I am printing and sending as a reference, if you choose to print and send that is fine with me.  This is crazy - we are losing our country and in the meantime being sheep led to slaughter while it happens.  I am done doing nothing.     The man in these video clips of Bob Basso, he is 71 years old and part of the generation that came before us – he makes me ashamed of my own self-involvement and lack of doing anything.  Does it not figure that once again someone from our parent’s generation or close to it was the one to start this and inspire others to put their time and money where their mouths are?

We really need to not just pass this on but to actually do something.

Today we are fortunate to have an administration that is sympathetic with railroad passenger/transit concerns, and has the incentive to support their position with legislation and funding. Even though I disagree with the high speed effort (monies should be concentrated on existing medium and long range service that connects where major airline hubs do not), there are those who would argue as long as the wheel is turning go for it. Our country is much larger than the smaller examples that are constantly used as a reference in support of high speed rail. We have very few corridors that would truely qualify, the airlines would be able to provide better connections for the traffic. I say consider that! The monies saved could be used to increase support for the CREATE effort in Chicago and others around the country where most needed. Point, choose wisely, not foolishly. This same thought could easily be manifested over the health care initiative............no need to hurry when it can be done right the first time!
