Dear Elanthian Visitors: I regret to inform ye that I will not be making further updates to the Incredibly Lengthy Verb List, as I have left Elanthia. I do plan on keeping this website available -- as is -- until Simu's Command Guide or the Coven's (new and not yet active) Searchable Verb Database are completed, whichever is first.
If ye discover any new verbs (such as the brand new spell-casting verbs) or corrections, etc., please do write to: coven-verb-database@yahoogroups.com. The Coven will truly appreciate yer support and contributions, just as I have appreciated yer support and contributions to the Incredibly Lengthy Verb List all these years. A sincere thank ye to all of ye, and may ye be healthy, happy and wealthy from yer adventures in Elanthia!
Blessed be,
Eratika

NOTES
For all of ye Four Winds members visiting Frostacres, who have been wanting to know how to throw snowballs at yer friends or ice skate like a professional, ye may find out here (for snow) and here (for iceskating). As these verbs are both special and temporary, they will be accessible here but not as a part of my regular verb list. I owe many thanks to Agenais, Greely, Kattiuskha, Siara, Trakkar and Wormdoc for their assistance with the snow verbs, and many thanks to Adonist, Cattriona, Damaina, Drastian, Drayylon, Agenais, Siara, Trakkar and Wormdoc for their assistance with the ice skating verbs. Stay warm, all of ye!
If ye are interested in the special (but-not-yet-updated) Marriage Verbs, please contact me at Eratika the Bard@aol.com and I will send the information directly to ye. Currently I am investigating the new special Marriage Verbs, and will make those available when possible. ;) I will not post the Marriage Verbs here because some newlyweds may wish to discover the verbs for themselves.
If ye have any questions,
comments, or suggestions,
please contact me at Eratika
the Bard@aol.com.
THANKS
I wish to thank the following people, who so kindly helped me with this project:
For this latest version of the list, I am incredibly grateful to Aelphaba, former Beastmaster (of the Bestiary) and fellow Coven sister, whose sharp eyes and knowledgeable mind contributed several clarifications, enhancements and/or corrections as well as missing verbs to the list. Yer many contributions have been -- and will continue to be -- invaluable, Aelphie, and I remain in yer debt! Thank ye. :)
Trakkar, milove, thanks for all of yer help; ye are a fabulous, funny ranger and a most wondrous man. What ye see in me I'll never understand, but I'm so happy that yer in my life! ::smooch::. Dear Chypher and Kelista, thanks for yer clerical expertise, and yer help with the marriage verbs. Geratch, thank ye for yer expertise with rogue-like things. Hannal, thanks much for yer expertise with several time-consuming wizard-like things. Thanks must go to Coven sister Khait, for all yer mage expertise on the complicated and sometimes mysterious arts of enchanting items and charging up ruby amulets. Angelianna, thank ye for yer expertise with empath-like things, and thank ye, Desias, not only for yer fine-tuning of the healer verbs, but for all yer general verb advice as well. Mondain, thanks to ye, I was able to add ancient verbs of which I've never before heard. Thanks also goes to Sofaltis the warrior; ye serve yer guild honorably, for ye kindly agreed to tackle me and a nasty critter to the ground on just a moment's notice. Thanks to Phatall and Coven sister Kassy, we now know why armless hugging can create a bumpy situation. By the way, if ye are wondering who is making all that noise by pounding and hitting the table with his fist, it's Brianus ye can thank. :) Coven sister Narissa and Abbey brother Sverk, thanks so much for pointing out how we can control what we say when we choose to swear, by using special keywords! Ye no doubt will make a lot of people happy. ;)
Thank ye kindly, Coven sisters Agenais and Akane, for allowing me to witness yer glee as ye successfully (and sometimes not so successfully) sacrificed helpless lil critters for more mana. Abbey brother Phantazmagoriia and Coven sister Wormdoc, thank ye for yer help with sacrifice as well. Many thanks must go to Seigurd, who contributed entertaining messages when using certain verbs on himself, informed us on how to agree with Mentors, and also revealed the Voln secret method on how to stand up every time, no matter the injuries or encumbrance. Ellidrin, thanks for all yer greetings and yer many skills as an archer; ye greet people better than anyone. ;) Gentledove, it was fun watching ye bash that small door in the Citadel. Vagren, we always knew ye were shifty-eyed. Frumpy, thanks for voluntarily departing, and ye should know that yer squeaky grunt needs some work. Also, many thanks must go to Reedy and Coven sister Talena for their help on some of the verbs released in early spring. Many thanks also to Seashimmer, who not only provided ongoing help with verbs this year, but who also demonstrated her ability to rise from the mud like a scary ancient monster! ::gawk:: Although Azure's loresinging guide and Bloodsnake's imbedding guide (upon which the Coven's more recent guide was based) have been around a while, their guides remain valuable, and I thank them for their willingness to share their wisdom. Thanks must also go to Naamit for her advanced bardess expertise and willingness to help young 'uns like me.
Gauntauro suffered much pain *and* a 20-round stun, thanks to his volunteering to remove his own lockpick tattoo. Thanks to Cattriona, we now know just how talented Sylvans can be when it comes to crawling through house windows and landing on the ground with a *thud*. She is pretty clever with folding her arms across her chest as well. ;) Coven sister Falya, Xorthos and Dazmilar, thanks kindly for yer suggestions. Who'da thunk a dwarven wizard could flex powerful muscles? Heh. Jaren, thanks kindly for yer casting expertise, now we all know why casters sometimes misfire and why sometimes they don't. Thank ye for showing us the different styles of cymbal playing, Katlinel, and young Mirti, thank ye for trying to steal from me. Thanks also to Coven sister Gallinda, who demonstrated how to Voln kick, punch and throw a wraith. When she didn't miss, that is. ;) Murgin, it is thanks to ye that we all now know what a highly trained warrior may see when he skillfully assesses an item. Thank ye, Naryia, for showing us that greeting yerself is certain to be a sign of impending mental collapse! Kalkor kindly reminded me, as he chewed his fingernails, that I should add some of those non-roleplaying verbs I mentioned above. And I love hearing the B flat! Many thanks must also go to Wexna, who continues to supply some missing -- and fun -- verbs, including swaying and wheezing when stunned, as well as crouching and staring at a wall! She's also pretty good at pondering dead people and trembling with rage. Yikes! Another kind soul I must thank is Aramina, who is also quite talented with trembling in various ways.
Many thanks to Coven sister Antalya for her expert help with ranger sensing and fine-tuning information about foraging. Abbey brother Anvilstone, yer contributions with foraging are also much appreciated. I just hope ye have recovered by now from burning yer hands. ::flail:: And Daqiva, thanks to ye, I actually *enjoyed* being shown out the door. Heh. Oneirin, thank ye for showing us how to clean items, and for reminding us just how much fun it is to accuse a friend of thieving in front of the constable. ;) I'm also grateful to Coven sister Saphyne for all of her expert help with the changes involving the summoning of a house pet, and to Coven sister Elleth for showing us how to eat a sealed message correctly. . . . Hmm, I sure miss being able to urdle. However, being able to swear a long blue streak at a nasty critter can be fun! ::cackle:: Sometimes, though, I get lost in thought, and I didn't understand how to appear that way via the amunet (and not by pondering!) until Aeillien showed us how. Many thanks! Redkaven, thank ye for sneezing all over me to demonstrate the various sneeze techniques. Thank ye, Marica, for showing us what happens when ye pluck at a stringed instrument and when ye attempt to shriek while yer dead. Phoroneus, ye've showed us much about how to throw weapons at critters and I'm grateful to ye! By the way, I've been telling everyone ye've been showing me how to hurl. ::gaze::
Nindy, thanks to ye, we
now hear whispers from dead people. I'm assuming this is a good thing. ;)
Thanks to Dalnirath, we now know that we
can't really impress dead critters by waggling at them, and that elves don't
ever have beards. Dalnirath also contributed, along with Maltiek,
Shadowbaron and Leung,
to our understanding of how some hunters, in an awe inspiring display of combat
mastery, can engage a critter in a furious dance macabre, spiraling into a blur
of strikes and ripostes. ::gawk::
Caereth,
thanks for flexing yer tattoo for me. Ye were happy to do that, I noticed. Strina
and
Heather, thanks for all that grunting.
We all knew dwarves had a lot of talent. And I never thought I'd end up
thanking someone for successfully stealing from me and sweeping me to the
ground, but then again, Coven sister and Beastmaster (of the Bestiary) Moirane
is a highly skilled pickpocket (and member of the rogue guild) who was only too
glad to help! Coven sister Desmonique,
yer talents with smoking cigars is unsurpassed, and I remain grateful to ye for
all yer help, even if I do have to wave my hand in front of my face to clear the
smoke! And Olgretien, thank ye for yer
funny contributions on what to do with an unlit cigar. ;) Many thanks must
also go to another talented Coven sister, Amerlise,
whose combat and armor hindrance comments and HTML coding tips I gratefully
accepted and employed. By the way, if any of the coding is ugly, the blame
lies with me. ;)
Hugs to all of ye! A Special Thanks to all of my wondrous
Coven
sisters and
Abbey brothers & sisters, who have provided me with much laughter and
family love.
Thanks for all of yer support, and most of all, yer friendship. * * *
Hugs to all of
ye, and Blessed Be!
