| UNLINK (while dead)
(NOTE: Clerics now must link their souls to the dead, by casting Well of Life, before the dead can be resurrected. If the souls are NOT linked, then the dead person cannot, of course, UNLINK. Once linked but prior to being raised, a dead person may UNLINK to sever the bond between the cleric and the deceased. If the dead person chooses to remain linked, the soul link will last for 15 minutes or until the corpse is raised or UNLINK is invoked. Note that after raising a corpse, the soul link remains for another two minutes; i.e., the cleric is mandated to protect the recently resurrected for two minutes.) (Also NOTE: Establishing a soul link does not negate the requirement of preserving the corpse with Lifekeep!) |
Here are a few
examples of linking and unlinking. First, a cleric attempts to resurrect a
dead person without first casting a soul link via Well of Life (308):
>prep 318 Second, the cleric, after she recovers from her stun (heh), remembers to cast Well of Life upon the dead person before attempt to do a raise, thus linking their souls: >prep 308 Third, here is an example of what happens when the deceased UNLINKs with a cleric (and thus that cleric can no longer raise that corpse unless the link is reestablished): >unlink [while you are dead] Fourth, note that two minutes after a successful resurrection, the soul link naturally dissolves: You sense the link to Kelista's soul slip peacefully away. |
Kelista gestures at you.
A gigantic burst of magic explodes over the head of Kelista. She reels from the backwash of pure spiritual energy!
