LOOK (you will always get a description of the room and people in the room with you)

A sample LOOK message:

> Look
[Town Square Central]
This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townfolk, travelers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end of the space, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see some stone benches.
Also here: Gerade, Queez, Serilius, Tunnuen, Akenshin, Centio who is seated, Dylia, Btine, Lady Berylla, Lord Primum.
Obvious paths: east, west, northeast, northwest, southeast, southwest.

LORESING (bards only; When you loresing to an item, there is a specific order in which items will give you information. If you do not follow the order, you may miss important information about that item. The progression of loresinging is as follows: (1) weight and value; (2) purpose; (3) magic/ enchantment; (4) spells/special abilities; and (5) number of charges.

There are certain "keywords" you should use to obtain this information, but as you age, items will start predicting the information you require next, and "keywords" will become less important.  Azure recommends that young bards should use four stanzas per verse and each stanza should rhyme (and that is a true rhyme, not a sound-alike rhyme). She also states that scansion does play a part in lore singing. That means that stanzas should somehow maintain a decent rhythm. So if your first stanza has 6 beats and the next stanza has 8, the next two should follow the same...or similar beats.)

Er . . . here is an example of rather ::cough:: horrid loresinging to a twisted wand, just to demonstrate the kind of responses loresinging can yield. Note that a twisted wand is an easy item to sing to; a challenging item may not have responded to such ugly verses.

>Loresing 'Pretty wand so tried and true; You seem so lost and blue;Tell me your weight and value; This much I ask of you.

You sing:

"'Pretty wand so tried and true
You seem so lost and blue
Tell me your weight and value
This much I ask of you."
Roundtime: 15 sec.

As you sing, you feel a faint resonating vibration from the twisted wand in your hand, and you learn something about it...

The first thing that strikes you about the wand is the weight, which is about 2 pounds. In your best estimation, it's worth at least 5,000 silvers.

You sing:

"'Wand so light to me
Your purpose to be free
Sing to reveal thee
And do not charge a fee!"
Roundtime: 12 sec.

As you sing, you feel a faint resonating vibration from the twisted wand in your hand, and you learn something about it...

You sense a faint aura of magic around the twisted wand. You also feel a faint drawing sensation from it, as though when its charge is depleted, it may be refilled. From the pitch of the vibration you determine that the purpose of the wand is to cast a spell or perform some magical purpose.

You sing:

"'So small wand sing to me
Reveal your magic to me
Tell me more and feel free
Now there is no need to flee."
Roundtime: 14 sec.

As you sing, you feel a faint resonating vibration from the twisted wand in your hand...

This is a wavable item, which casts spells from the sorcerers sphere. It has a few charges.

Note that the above verse has ALREADY identified how many charges are in the magic item. It seems that asking for the number of charges in your fifth verse may be redundant. This may be a change by the gods since Azure wrote her famous guide.

You sing:

"'Wand what spell have you
Or abilities that's true
What does your spell do?
Now this much I ask of you. "
Roundtime: 14 sec.

As you sing, you feel a faint resonating vibration from the twisted wand in your hand...

The twisted wand contains the spell Mana Disruption, from the sorcerer circle.

You sing:

"'Oh wand sing to me
Reveal spell charges in thee
Tell me and feel free
There is no real need to flee."
Roundtime: 14 sec.

As you sing, you feel a faint resonating vibration from the twisted wand in your hand...

The twisted wand contains the spell Mana Disruption, from the sorcerer circle.

(Note again that the number of charges was revealed in the third verse but not the fifth. See comment above.)
