REGISTER <ITEM> (used for recording the specific information and data on an ITEM so it can be replaced if lost) |
Town Registrar Information Registration of an item should not be construed as an insurance policy of any type, nor is it proof of ownership. It simply establishes a detailed record of the item, and that it was at one time in the possession of the person who paid for the registration. Unless the item is significantly altered, you should not need to register it again. To register your item, simply REGISTER <item name>. >register shield The elderly clerk examines the shield carefully and then scribbles an entry in the register. "I have recorded the fact that you are in possession of a reinforced shield at this time, and have also recorded a detailed description of it. This will make it easier for you to describe an item to the town officials should it become lost, but is not proof of ownership," the clerk recites in a bored monotone. "There is a nominal, 10 silver piece charge for this service. Please pay the debt clerk on your way out." |

RENEW (bards only) USAGE: (Why manually renew a song or songs when the songs automatically renew on a regular basis? Naamit offers two good examples to explain the benefits of manually renewing a song: First, let's assume a ranger wants to hunt with you and you are singing Kai's Song. What you'd probably do when he joins your group is "renew 1007" so that the ranger could then get the benefits of your spellsong right away. The +10 to AS would last as long as he stayed in your group and you kept the spellsong going. In the second example, let's assume that you are fighting a hoarde of 6 manticores and thraks. You may be using 1008 (Mass Holding Song) to lower their defensive ability - Thus, making the critters easier to attack. So you've started singing 1008 in the vicinity of these critters. Well, everyone knows how manticores and thraks run, so perhaps 5 of the 6 ran away. 7 new ones then come in. You could use "renew 1008" to RENEW your songspell (for less mana and time than if you were to "stop singing" and then restart the song again), thus causing the defensive disability that 1008 offers, to be heard by all these new critters.) |
>prep 1007 >renew 1007 (Note: "4 PP's" likely means "4 Power Points," or to use the more current term, "4 mana." Indeed, 4 mana were used in manually renewing this song)
Here is a list of renewable bard songs, followed by the mana amount used at each regular interval or each time you manually renew (note that the regular interval is 120 + 5 times the singer's level in seconds with a max of 360 seconds for the interval): 1001 Holding Song - 1 1003 Fortitude Song - 1 1006 Song of Protection - 2 1007 Kai's Triumph Song - 4 1008 Mass Holding Song - 3 1009 Sonic Shield Song - 4 1010 Song of Valor - 3 1011 Song of Peace - 4 1012 Sonic Blade Song - 4 1014 Sonic Armor - 5 1015 Song of Depression - 6 1017 Song of Noise - 7 1018 Song of Power - 15 1019 Eonak's Song of Glory - 12 1025 Singing Sword Song - 15 1030 Song Sonic Disruption-20 1035 Song of Mirrors - 15 |
