"Essie” was born Aug 29, 2002 at
Chesarab Kennels in Woodstown, NJ. Essie
enjoys upland and waterfowl hunting every Fall/Winter. She is happiest when she
is doing some sort of work. Essie has had some formal field training with Pat
Nolan of
Ponderosa Kennels
in Smithsburg, MD. Essie earned the AKC Senior
Hunter title Oct. 23, 2004. Essie finished her Master Hunter title Sept 30,
2007.
Essie completed her Companion Dog (CD) title July 23, 2006 earning second and
third placements on two of the three legs.
Essie has had her hips evaluated thru both OFA (CB-8087G31F-PI good rating) and
PennHIP (distraction index 0.40 left, 0.36 right). Her elbows are rated normal
by OFA (CB-EL876F31-PI). We have her eyes checked yearly and registered thru
C.E.R.F. (CB-4800/2009-79). She is Optigen tested Normal, meaning she will
never have the prcd form of PRA nor will any of her offspring. Essie has had
thyroid checks and has been certified through OFA (CB-TH61/56F-PI) based on
laboratory results submitted no evidence of thyroid disease was recognized,
giving her a Normal rating.
Essie was a part of the early Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC) testing, she was found clear. Through the new OFA Degenerative myelopathy testing Essie also was found to be a carrier of the DM affected gene.

Essie was bred to Dual & AFC Bertram's Blazing Firewater, MH owned by Kurt and
Angie Bertram. She had a litter of 5 pups on Nov 15, 2007, see our newest
addition, Lefty.
We were saddened when we were informed Blaze passed away March 2008.
Essie is back training for competition in both the
field and obedience.
