Royal Express is a drill team for girls 9 and older. Royal express will except any breed or color of horses. Horses cannot kick nor bite, horses must be able to learn how to learn how to pick up canter from standstill position, work on appropriate leads , stop and stand in the middle of a drill. All drills are performed in a western style of riding with the left hand. All horses will need to be able to be neck reined and use leg queues.
Equipment used for training is acceptable during practices. All riders 18 and under must wear helmets and other are advised. Royal Express does not expect all horses to do everything correctly in the beginning. Royal Express gives time for horses to get adjusted to their surroundings. Royal Express is a team and we work together to help each other out. All Horses must wear breast collars on saddles and wear medicine boots or splint boots on at least front legs but we recommend hind legs also. Riders must attend practice regularly and attend all team events such as competitions.
Royal Express will do competitions throughout the drill season. Riders also can participate in parades such as the Daffodil Festival or Enumclaw Christmas Parade but parades are not mandatory.
