If you want to hear some examples that are consistent or inconsistent with motivational interviewing, and practice rating responses using the Motivational Interviewing Treatment Integrity Scale this CD may be a resource to consider. It is a program that works very much like web pages on the Internet.
You will need speakers on your computer to hear the counselor's & client's responses. This program comes on a CD. It is designed to be used on one computer. You could use it by yourself, in a small group, or as part of a large presentation or training. The cost is $104.
Example 1 & Example 2 use the same client content but differ in how the counselor responds. The target behavior is engaging in behaviors that would prevent relapse to drug use.
Example 3 & Example 4 use the same client content but differ in how the counselor responds. The target behavior is connecting with AA.
Example 5 The target behavior is helping the client do those things that might prevent a relapse with a co-occurring disorder.
Example 6 The target behavior is activities that might help avoid relapse to alcohol use.
