IF YOUR TENNIS COURT SURFACE HAS:

Cracks over 1/2" wide

A crack that is 1/2 inch wide can begin to cause serious problems on your tennis court surface. Patching these cracks is an important part of maintaining a smooth, even, tennis court surface you should consider doing.

Acrylic patch mix Materials needed :

100 lb. clean sand
1.5 gallons of portland cement
5 gallon pail Novabond

Novabond is a 100% acrylic polymer emulsion that when added to concrete in place of water will dramatically increase the strength and adhesion properties.

1. Mix 1/2 gallon of water with 1/2 gallon of Novabond This will be used for a primer.

2. Clean crack and brush inside of crack and 3 inches to each side of crack with primer.

3. Dry mix 100 lbs of clean sand with 1.5 gallons of portland cement

4. Take out of that dry mixture enough material to be used in thirty minutes.

5. Mix undiluted Novabond to material taken out, and mix to a trowel consistency.

6. Fill crack with a trowel or putty knife.

This will be gray in color, and will be dry in several hours. If you wish to color over this patch, I recommend Novacourt, a ready to use 100% acrylic surface available in nine standard colors. For details, see Do It Yourself All - Weather Tennis Court Surfaces Page.
