Resurfacing Your Tennis Court

Reurfacing a tennis court should be done by a qualified tennis court contractor. If you are a handy person who is patient and will take the time to follow each step carefully, and willing to put in a lot of time and effort, you can have a championship quality tennis court .

1. Scrape, Broom, and Blow Surface Clean surface between coats	2. Repair Cracks
3. Repair Birdbaths or Puddles	4. Powerwash if needed
5. Have materials mixed before application	6. Clean surface between coats

The surface you will be coating will determine what steps to follow. These instructions will be for an asphalt tennis court. For a championship quality tennis court , I recommend using two coats of Novacourt, a high solids, 100% acrylic coating system that is designed for the court owner who is seeking a high quality tennis court surface, and is willing to contribute muscle power to lower the cost of the project.

1. Pour 3" to 6" bead of material the length of the sufrace.	2. Angle Squeegee, pulling one third of material in a straignt line, not leaving any puddles
3. Always keep 2" to 6" of material in the windrow. DON'T LET THE WINDROW RUN DRY!	4. Pull material in a straignt line. When you reach the end of each pass, pull a few feet of matreial at a 90 degree angle.
5. For 2 colors, snap a chalk line. Apply color to inbound area first.

Novacourt is supplied in a ready-to-use format, and packaged in 5 gallon pails. The Novacourt surface is non-slip and is not "sticky". We are able to achieve this quality because the aggregates used are round and contain no sharp edges. This allows the Novacourt to have a lot of texture, but a very low abrasion factor.

The application is simple. Two coats Novacourt applied 90 degrees to each other is recommended.

1. Pour 3" to 6" inch bead of the Novacourt material the length of the surface
2. Angle the squeegee, pulling 1/3 of material in a straight line not leaving any puddles
3. Always keep 3" to 6" of material in the windrow. Don't let the windrow run dry.
4. For New asphalt a coat of Novasurface ready to use 100% acrylic resurfacer is needed first. This would be applied the same as the Novacourt.
