Something or other going up in Denver
I haven't managed to update this journal quite as daily lately as has been my wont. Well, it's probably good practice for next week, when I'm driving to Vegas for Corflu. Who knows how often I'll be connected while on the road and in the dens of Sin City.One of my goals this year was to take someone I knew to Vegas. First, that was to be someone who later decided to move to Chicago and in with her new boyfriend, so I invited someone else who had been robbed of a vacation recently. Then my first friend decided she could fly back here and drive off to Vegas with me (heaven knows what the boyfriend would have made of this idea), which put me in an awkward spot, no less awkward than when my first friend had an exchange of words with the bf over the phone and dumped him, deciding to stay in town and buy a kitten instead. Then it turned out she was unable to go after all. By this time I was as tired of the whole thing as anyone and would rather have taken friend number two anyway, who fortunately is still congenial about going. Friend number one has icily demanded via text message that I leave her alone henceforth, and will probably be shocked when for the first time in memory a guy actually complies.
