Blue Planet Earthscapes....Going Green
Blue Planet Earthscapes is an organic garden service, established in 1995. Owner, Becky Elder, was introduced to organic gardening in 1975, and has been gardening every since. Consultation and maintenance is the foundation of Blue Planet while project assistance and design work is also cheerfully done! Blue Planet offers Dog Duty weekly pet clean-up service. Recycling what comes from the landscape is a conscious effort to reduce waste, as is car-pooling by the gardeners whenever possible.
Blue Planet Earthscapes is the first, and perhaps the only, landscaping company in the Pikes Peak Region to offer permaculture, or whole-system gardens. Certified in permaculture design, Becky Elder, and the Blue Planet gardeners, works to create healthy, natural gardens that emulate nature's systems. Permaculture brings solutions to the landscape in a time of change and uncertainty. Going beyond xeriscape into growing food, creating up forest gardens and backyard habitats expresses the philosophy of working with nature, not against her. Forest, orchard and guild gardens bring permaculture to life and carry the urban and suburban landscape into the future. Of course, Blue Planet also creates xeriscape gardens and tends many traditional gardens as well.
In 2008, Blue Planet Earthscapes is introducing biodynamic soil and compost treatment to the organic regime, furthering the commitment to taking care of our gardens as well as the Earth. Biodynamic work brings the pull of the sun and moon (forces that affect the earth everyday) into the realm of the city landscape. Blue Planet is devoted to bring positive change into the Pikes Peak Region and takes delight in the challenge. Going green is easier than you think with Blue Planet!

How does your Garden grow?
"In my view, one of the basic goals of a gardener should be to achieve a
healthy biological balance within the garden. Although this is not a difficult
undertaking, it requires two essential ingredients that a gardener ought to
have in great abundance. One essential is time. ...the gardener should be willing
to invest a few years in establishing a balanced garden. The second essential
is patience… the intelligence of patience tempered by time far outweighs the
foolishness of the quick-fix remedy."
