The Northwest’s Largest Dance Party is back in full swing for 2008!!

 

After an unplanned hiatus in 2007, it is our pleasure to announce that the 2008 Portland Dance Festival will be back this July. Please join us as we come together for the 22nd Portland Dance Festival. As the Northwest’s largest dance party, it’s sure to have something for everyone—the social dancer, the competitor, the beginner, the spectator, the workshop attendee and those who just like to have a good time with their friends.

 

The event kicks off with a warm up dance on Thursday evening July 10th and continues with workshops beginning at 10:00am on Friday. FREE classes will be offered on Friday evening for those who are new to dancing and just want to get your feet wet in a non-intimidating kind of way.

 

Formal competition begins on Saturday morning with UCWDC Pro-Am and then couples divisions. Workshops will continue throughout the day and culminates with a spectacular dinner show featuring many of your favorite dance personalities and performers.

 

Our day starts on Sunday with another round of workshops as well as our upper level UCWDC couples competition. The afternoon is all about social competition featuring our wildly popular west coast swing Jack and Jill sanctioned by the WSDC. Festivities wrap up with a dance and wind down social. Of course each night features three dance rooms—Country, Swing and Line—something for everyone.
