All-Star Workshop DVD or Video summaries will be available for purchase. Separate DVD’s and Videos for Country and Swing will be available.

 

Pro-Am Jack & Jill and Pro-Am Swing

Here’s your chance to meet our judges and teachers “up close and personal”. Plan to take part in our informal Pro-Am Jack and Jill contest on Friday night. You can compete with the pros in two step and west coast swing. Or, grab your favorite Pro on Sunday and strut your stuff to traditional west coast swing music. Swing clothing and shoes encouraged; Strictly Swing rules apply; Upper and Lower divisions will be offered.

 

Pattern Dance Challenge

Bushwhackers and Duke’s will be sponsoring a dance competition geared especially toward the social dancer. Prelims for couples will be held at Bushwhackers in the Cowboy Cha Cha, Sweetheart Schottische, and Horseshoe; the line dances Tush Push, Watermelon Crawl and Boot-Scootin’ Boogie will be held at Duke’s. The finals of each contest will be held at our pre-event dance party on July 10th. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top couple and line dancer. Bring Your Video Camera

The competition will not be professionally videotaped, but you can purchase your own video pass at the registration desk for $20 - good for the whole weekend. A friend may video your performance provided your Video Pass is displayed on the camera. Video taping of non-fee workshops will be allowed at the discretion of the instructor. The following cannot be videotaped: All-Star workshops, the Dinner Show or Master’s performances, including the Champions Jack and Jill.

 

Saturday Night Dinner Show

This year we’re again offering a spectacular Saturday night dinner show. Only 300 tickets will be sold. Respond early for the best seats. If you and your friends would like to share a table, you MUST purchase ALL your tickets at the same time. Table assignments will be made in the order in which reservations are received. We’ll do our best to accommodate your requests!

Saturday Theme Party ~ The Mad Hatter’s Ball

Hear ye, hear ye—come one, come all to the Mad Hatter’s Ball.

We’re taking a journey with the Mad Hatter and his friends into the

realm of Wonderland. Don your most outrageous hat and follow the

white rabbit down the rabbit hole to a night of dancing and frivolity

you won’t soon forget. If  you’re feeling quite mad, we’ll make you

right glad. Come in foolish attire for all to admire. Don’t be late for

this very important date!

Saturday Night Swing Social...

Join us on Saturday night at 10 pm in the Swing Room for our special MAD HATTER dance party hosted by the Portland Swing Dance Club. Help us celebrate 23 years of the Portland Dance Festival.

 

Sunday Buffet & Wrap Up Party

A New York Deli and Ice Cream Sundae buffet will be served following the awards ceremony. The Wrap up Party will start at the same time in the St. Helen’s room featuring your favorite country, swing and line dance music. Now’s the time to eat, socialize, kick back and just relax.
