Line Dancer Notes
We are pleased to report that there has been a great deal of interest in the Portland Dance Festival from our line dancer friends this year! We are very excited to be hosting you and will do everything we can to guarantee you all have a fabulous time.
A number of folks are getting together groups to attend – from Canada, California, Arizona, Montana, Idaho, and the great Northwest (so far…). Gather your group and come to the party! One of our California dancers, Cindy Aldrich, has graciously offered to spear head an effort to get a play list together. If you would like your favorite dance to be added to the playlist, please contact Cindy at aldrich6270@sbcglobal.net . The playlist will be a guide for the evening dances, however requests will be accommodated as well as the new teaches from the weekend.
Our weekend theme is “Alice in Wonderland/The Mad Hatter’s Ball”. Dressing up in your favorite “Alice” attire (full costumes, thematic t-shirts, or a favorite crazy hat, etc.) is highly encouraged – especially for our Saturday night parties.
In the past, there has been a little confusion regarding our registration form and what is included. Here’s the breakdown for line dance activities:
· ALL line dance activities (EXCEPT the Saturday Night Dinner Show and Sunday Buffet), from Friday through Sunday - workshops, nightly dances, and access to all the ballrooms throughout the weekend, are included in the Adult Weekend Pass for $75.00 (or $85 after 6/22 or at the door).
· The Saturday Night Dinner Show ($40 until 6/22/09 or $45 after 6/22/09) and/or the Sunday Night Buffet ($18) may be purchased separately.
· If you plan to attend the Saturday Night Dinner Show and wish to sit with a group of your friends, you must send in your registrations at the same time in order to guarantee you will all be at the same table for dinner.
· There is no need for you to purchase an All Star Workshop Gold Card as these are used for mostly upper level couples classes. Of course if you are interested in taking any of the All-Star Workshop classes, you may certainly purchase an All Star Workshop Gold Card. Or, if you have purchases a weekend pass, you may purchase individual All-Star Workshop tickets (if you’d only like to take a few of those classes) for $6.00 each at the event.
· The Thursday night dance is an additional cost of $10 and is NOT included in your weekend pass purchase. Thursday’s dance will be “mixed” with couples, line and pattern dances. Requests will be taken by the DJ and dance floor etiquette will be followed.
