The People of Rubicon
That's us goofing around with two teams of our dogs, just having
fun on a sunny winter day. We got our first malamute 20 years
ago. Like most people who end up "going to the dogs," we started with a
single companion dog. We liked Zack so much that we got another
malamute, and then another and another! After we got our sixth
malamute, we figured that we had "crossed the Rubicon," the point of no
return, hence the name Rubicon Alaskan Malamutes. (See
Bartleby for more about
the Rubicon reference.)

Hiram Daitch is a consultant
pharmacist specializing in long-term care. He is fortunate to
have a flexible schedule that allows him to train dogs for sledding
in the fall and winter, and to enjoy other outdoor activities in the
summer. He's hoping that this summer's outdoor activities will
have less to do with building kennels, fences and trails and
more to do with hiking, cycling, and kayaking! |
