[Note by Ruby Simonson McNeill: (The Bible Record that follows was sent to me in 1988 from Donald G. Bonsall who stated "Gordon Bonsall Grimm in New Jersey found it at the Pennsylvania Historical Society last week… It would appear to be information from a bible that an Elizabeth W. Hires copied and sent to Gilbert Cope. Might be especially important as it lists Obadiah as the son of Joseph…." ). It is important to give credit to those who share and provide our answers - so Don, Bonsall - thank you. The credit goes to you and Gordon Bonsall Grimm. I have tried to obtain a telephone number for Don but have not been able to do so. If anyone has a current address for him, please let me know. Don has been working on a Bonsall manuscript for probably over 10 years now. Would like to know if it has been published yet.]

use as I had never intended to publish a book on the Bonsalls. I
am very content to have the information that they have shared.
I understood that there had been plans to publish but I have not heard
anything further.

[rsm note: The Bible record states Obadiah d. 4 10mo 1732. The 10th month was called December. This would actually give a one day difference. I would assume that the Bible record would be accurate and the date that the death reported may be in error. However, all dates should be noted with sources rather than make a determination that, unless we were there, we cannot do. I appreciate and welcome all variations that may be found in any records and also appreciate your citing the sources.]
