From Planetout.com:
Everett plays it straight in St. Tropez
Out actor Rupert Everett will prove he can play a ladies' man in the miniseries "Dangerous Liaisons." Everett co-stars with Catherine Deneuve, Leelee Sobieski and Nastassja Kinski in this French-produced project. Taking on the roles played by John Malkovich and Glenn Close in the 1988 film, Everett and Deneuve will portray Vicomte de Valmont and Marquise de Merteuil, two French aristocrats who use an innocent young girl as a pawn in their scheming sexual games. Sobieski is the unlucky lass (played in the movie by Uma Thurman) who gets caught in the middle. Unlike the film, the miniseries is not based on gay writer Christopher Hampton's play, but returns to the source of the story -- Choderlos de Laclos' 18th-century novel. Shooting began in April in St. Tropez and will also take place in Paris, Montreal and Scotland. The project is being shot simultaneously in English and French because American audiences are too lazy to read subtitles.

June 20, 2001 -

Found in the Toronto Sun, Rupert will be in Toronto this September to begin filming Great Hitch, described as "Coen brothers-esque dark comedy thriller." It's about a Hollywood writer under pressure to write a big studio action picture. Instead, he sets out to script something important, his version of "In Cold Blood" based on a small town murder he read about in a tabloid. But when he gets to Great Hitch (which is both the name of the town and a double entendre about what ensues) his plan goes awry.

May 7, 2001 -

Rupert Everett is in advanced negotiations to play a British nobleman fallen on hard times in South Kensington, an English-language comedy feature due to start shooting in London in July. Although The Next Best Thing has opened to mediocre reviews, and a 5.9 million dollar weekend gross, this film displays a wonderful Rupert role. Maybe not his best movie, Rupert does some great stuff here, and it is definitely his movie from the start. As reported by E!Online, Rupert and his writing partner, Mel Bordeaux, were denied screenwriting credit on the film, after making substantial script changes. Rupert seems quite displeased, but says he'll live with the decision. Here's hoping that some of his own screenplays make it to the screen soon!

July 19, 1997 -

I've read that "B. Monkey" may be released as early as September!

July 12, 1997 -

"Martha and Arthur" looks like it is all set to actually happen! This is Rupert's pitch for another flick with BFW co-star Julia Roberts. As the story goes, Rupert and Julia would play the title characters, husband and wife, whose lives hit a bump when Arthur decides that he is indeed gay. The story was Rupert's idea, and he will collaborate on the writing with partner Mel Bordeaux. No word yet as to when this will start filming!

"P.S. I Love You" has been pitched and caught. Another Rupert idea apparently, this story of "Hollywood's first gay secret agent" has been embraced by TriStar Pictures. Rupert will star as the gay James Bond, but nothing yet on casting, etc.

Lastly, word is that Rupert is hard at work on the film adaptation of "Hello Darling, Are You Working?" No news on when this fabulous story will see the light of the film projector, and who will play Rhys? Rupert himself?
