Fast, affordable, professional, design services using the latest in computer design software. I specialize in green home designs and have experience with SIPs panels. These panels increase insulation, decrease labor costs, and use far less lumber. I also specialize in converting floor plans created by homeowners into finished full-size drawings ready to submit to building departments.

The Hybrid Solar Home
Considering that Seattle winters average fewer than four sunny days a month, is it possible to design a home for the Seattle area that can be powered and heated entirely with solar power? I spent a great deal of time doing the engineering necessary to answer that question. The answer is yes but you can't just bolt photovoltaic panels on the sunny side of a typical house roof. The entire home has to be designed to capture and store solar energy and use it efficiently.
I call this concept the Hybrid Solar Home and a full set of plans are available for purchase. The plans can also be modified to accommodate customer preferences, lot size, and slope.

My background:
I am an engineer with roughly twenty years of experience in structural design and analysis. I work from my home office. I have a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering and an associates degree in aviation from Purdue University. I live in Seattle with my wife (who works part time as a pediatrician) and our two children.
If you would like to learn more, feel free to call me anytime for a free consultation. Look at it as a no obligation fact finding mission. I can provide you with a preliminary floor plan using the latest CAD software for $398. This drawing can be used for further planning. If you then decide to proceed with your project I can provide any or all of the services listed below:
1) A full set of plans with structural engineering stamp.
2) Final approval of plans by the Seattle building department.
3) Building permits.
4) Bids for materials.
5) Assistance with bids and selection of general contractor.
6) Construction supervision and liaison.
