Rule Changes made at the 2008 Congress Meeting:

VI.  International Championship Trophy Awards.  Paragraph D.  The club hosting the Congress is responsible for providing plaques for the past-completed year.  Plaques will be presented at the first Sierra Chapter International of the next year.

IX.  Rider Classification.   Paragraph D.  Eliminated the Master B class.  Classes are now:  Master, Plus 50 Master, Plus 60 Master and Plus 80 Master.

IX,  Rider Classification.  Paragraph F.  When a rider is moved by the system to a higher class and his Rep says no, then his Rep must present reasons for the denial to the other Chapter Reps for review.  The other Chapter Reps are then allowed to vote on the move.  It would require a majority of “yes, move” votes to override the original “do not move.”

The computer database formula average figure is decreased to 3.0.

Paragraph I.  No forced move ups shall be allowed after the OTMX Rider has completed three (3) International events.  Except in the situation where the riding committee (chapter reps) have determined there was a blatant and obvious attempt to hold back during those three  (3) races for purposes of “locking into a class”.  This determination must be made by a majority of reps.  Discussion can take place away from the track via email or other means, (other than the forum) regarding accusations of sandbagging for review.  When a rider is moved up, he will be informed at his/her next race if he/she cannot be notified sooner.  The rider will be given credit for the races completed in the lower class but that credit will be an average of how they have finished the year in their new class.

XI.  Scoring System.  Paragraph A.  The riders best seven (7) scores   The number of events counted for the rider will be half the number of events held in the calendar year.  The rider with the most points wins.  If there are eleven (11) races, 50% would be his/her best six(6).  If there are ten (10) races it would be six (6).  If there are nine (9) races, 50% would be his/her best five (5).  If there are eight (8) races, it would be the best five (5).

            Paragraph C.  Positive scoring system:

                        1st place – 30 points

                        2nd place – 27 points  was 25

                        3rd place – 25 points  was 21

                        4th place – 23 points  was 18

                        5th place – 21 points  was 16

                        6th place – 19 points  was 15

                        7th place – 17 points  was 14

                        8th place – 15 points  was 13

                        9th place – 13 points  was 12

                        10th place – 11 points

Paragraph G.  If there is less than 4 riders in the Master class – those riders have the option to choose to start in a single start with the class they are combined with.  60 masters and 60 experts will be a single start.

XII.   Rules of the meet.  Paragraph B.  Plus 60 Amateurs will ride 3 motos on Saturday and 2 on Sunday.

The following are the move ups for the 2009 season:  I put the Master B riders who rode in 2008 through the 3.0 move up system.

Dave Harden – Ore                                                      Axel Winter - Alberta

Doug Moore – CV                                                        I did not run the 60 Novice, 60 Amateur, 70

Novice, 70 Amateur, or 70 Expert because

60 Expert to 60 Master:                                            they do not run 5 motos.  Besides, they take

J R Canaguier – Sierra                                                  comfortable.  This year I did run the 60 Experts

Art Colvin – Alberta                                                      because they ran 5 motos.  Next year I will run

Larry Hartnett – Idaho                                                  the 60 Amateurs because they, too, will run 5

Tim Kennedy – Arizona                                                 motos.

Harry Morse – Washington

Dennis Tooman – LA                                                    I am not publishing the new Master class list

because it has too much controversy.  I will

Amateur to Expert:                                                    be sending it to the chapter reps based on their

Wendell Bierma – Wash                                                recommendations.  If you are listed as a Master B,

Shaun White – Wash                                                     and you prefer not to ride “Master” then you must

Scott Chick – Nev                                                         take it up with your rep.

Matt Itamura – Nev

Shane McCray – Ida

Lonnie Young – Ida                                                       Published by Annie McCarthy,

Earl Scott – Alberta                                                       Secretary/Scorekeeper/Mom
