R/C and Model Versions of the Rutan VariViggen

This page is dedicated to one of my favorite airplanes.  There are planes that fly faster and more efficiently; but for some reason, I have always loved the futuristic look of the Rutan VariViggen.  Email me a link if you would like to submit any additional websites about the VariViggen.  Any photos, drawings or additional information would also be greatly appreciated (Email to: rutanman@comcast.net ).

(photo comment from original webpage: VariViggen No. 2 - Did not have much luck with my first build of that plane. First trimming is done but it is not yet circling overhead.

(photo comment from original webpage: Nick Peppiat brought this Rutan Vari-Viggen peanut out of retirement to give it some flights. I had not seen it before, and was impressed with how stable it looked in the air. )

R/C version of the VariViggen

(photo comment from original webpage: (translated from Swedish to English with corrections and much para-phrasing, could still have errors, though) Kurt's R/C version of the Vari-Viggen.  Photo showing the potential takeoff problems due to a combination of the tall grass, small wheels and  possibly too weak of an engine.  Vilketsom tried a hand launch which did not go so well.  Olle Flink gathered the pieces and will repair it  for another try.. Repaired aircraft with a more powerful engine.  The original VariViggen was built by Burt Rutan which was inspired by the Saab's J37.)
