                PROGRAM: Field Day Planning

We had invited Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and other visitors to a special cookout and demonstration period during our field day operations. The demonstrations to the public were to be claimed for the Educational Activity Bonus.

Persons present at the meeting decided on the details of our Field Day operations:

·         Class A Club/non portable, using batteries.

·         We would try to get credit for making at least 5 points using solar power.

·         Power multiplier of 2.

·         Boots Boyce volunteered to demonstrate APRS during the cookout and demonstration for the scouts and other visitors.

·         Albert Reynolds volunteered to provide antenna, mast, and antenna tuner. Albert also would bring a poster of United States Frequency Allocations.

·         Carl Bosard volunteered to provide food, demonstration of a 440 MHZ repeater, and a public  information table. Carl also was advertising our event to local media, agencies, and Government officials.

·         Same logging program as club used last year at the hospital station.

·         Tom Arnold, Ralph Mott, and Steve Czaikowski volunteered to copy the W1AW field day bulletin.

·         Mark Ledford would have gear ready to demonstrate Packet Radio, digital modes, phone, and CW. Also, he planned to get points for alternate power by using solar charged battery at some point during our operations.

·         Jerry Flanders volunteered to serve as photographer.

·         Setup time was set for 10:00 AM on the 28th.

·         Take-down time was set for 2:00 PM on the 29th.
