Secretary’s Report
Secretary Steve Czaikowski, W8SC reported. The minutes from the July meeting were read and approved.
No problems have been reported with the repeater.
ARRL South Carolina Section Emergency Coordinator Charlie Miller – AE4UX reported that the ARES plan and the MOU are being rewritten for South Carolina. ARRL South Carolina Section Manager Dr. Jim N2ZZ reported that the ARRL BOD is still working on digesting the FCC statement regarding business definition of use of Amateur Radio. The idea is to prevent commercial intrusion of our frequencies.
President Carl AJ4AU reported that all services of MARS are undergoing significant changes.

Dag W8LVL demonstrated the double-diamond 2-meter antenna featured in the August 2009 QST. He offered the antenna as a door prize for a future meeting.
