NORTH AUGUSTA BELVEDERE RADIO CLUB

 Meeting Minutes for December 8th, 2008

This meeting was held at the Ryan’s Restaurant, North Augusta, South Carolina. Eighteen members and several guests attended. President Mark Ledford, KG4IUQ called the meeting to order.

Treasurer’s Report:

Tom Arnold – W4KVF gave the report.

 

Secretary’s Report:

Carl Bosard – AJ4AU. There had been no corrections to the November meeting minutes report.

 

Committee Reports:

A.      Repeater

Dick Schoenfelder – K4FKJ reported the repeater battery had to be replaced.  Repairs were made after the battery tested bad.  The warranty was for three years and the battery died one day later.

B.                Net Manager

Mark Ledford – KG4IUQ  Reports the net met Simplex during the repeater outage and also used the N2ZZ the repeater to call the net.

C.        ARRL South Carolina Section Emergency Coordinator

            Charlie Miller – AE4UX reported Edgefield county has new equipment and radios for emergency preparedness.

 

D.        SC Section Manager

            Jim Boehner – N2ZZ was unable to attend

 

E.        Community Support

            Aiken Middle School introduction to Amateur Radio program is to be given in January 2009.  An interview by the students of a yl ham operator, former Schoefield middle school attendee will be recorded and played on the school TV system.

 

Old Business: Installation of Officers.

AJ4AU Carl Bosard was installed as President

W8SC Steve Czaikowski was installed as Secretary

W4KVF Tom Arnold Was installed for his 23rd term as Treasurer.

New Business:

        Certificates of Appreciation were presented by W4UK Jerry to Mark Ledford KG4IUQ outgoing president, W3MIF Don Zupon and Carl Bosard AJ4AU for service as club Secrectary and Tom Arnold W4KVF for his 22nd term as Treasurer.

Our guest and ham operator new to the CSRA, KI4WAX Maria Lind, and her guest Daniel Westbrook attended the meeting.

Program: Fellowship and Christmas party.

An open roundtable of ideas for future meetings was discussed among the members present.

The K4NAB Monthly Newsletter was published and placed on the website.
