Race Frame
This project isn't finished, but here are some picutre of where it is
at now. At least It is usable at this point. Click on the
picture for a larger view.
Since my computer is used for many other things, I need to build
something that could be moved around (hence the wheels). There
were also limitation to hight so that I could slide it close enough to
the desk.
The seat is out of a Honda Prelude Si. The shifter is home built. See this link
for more info. The steering wheel and pedals are and old Wingman
Formula Force. The clutch pedal is one pedal from the first wheel
and pedal design that Thrustamter sold. The clutch and shifter
are wired to appear like a CH Virtual Pilot Pro. Not seen in the
picutre is a TrackIR unit.
I pull the monitor and speakers forward so they are where the keyboard
appears in the picture. That along with the TrackIR adds even
more to the imersion factor.
The poistioning of the pedals is wrong. They need to sit lower,
but becuase they are wider than the frame, the can't be lowered.
I am working on building some pedals and those will sit in the
correct spot.
