RX 300 Front Strut Squeak

Front strut squeak can be caused by several problems. One that first apperard in very cold winter weather (single digit mornings) was resolved as follows.

I used WD40 at the top from inside the "engine room" (an interesting term I noticed in the shop manual - I thought I had picked up a British car manual by mistake!), engine compartment to the rest of us.

Open the hood, you see a nut in a cup (bushing) at the top of the coil tower. I lubed the nut and shot WD40 (about 2 seconds worth) in the small 3 horizontal slots at the very top of the bushing. These slots are right under the sheetmetal covering the bushing around the opening.
