This is my 1985 RZ500. I bought it in 1998 and had it shipped to my house. Unfortunately, it was in no condition to ride. The jetting was wrong, but I expected that. What I didn't expect was overheating and coolant leakage problems. I ended up taking it apart for a rebuild 2 months after I got it. While the motor was apart I decided now was the time to make some modifications. I shipped the timing plate and reed blocks to Andrew Jones at Adjustment Tech Racing for modifications. I also bought a 520 chain conversion kit and a Barnett clutch kit based on Andrew Jones recommendations. The Jolly Moto pipes were rusting under the clear coat, so I had them powder coated while they were off the bike. When I finally got the bike back together in the winter of 2000 the engine characteristics had changed and I had jetting problems again. Luckily, Ron Atchison had just came up with some needles he was selling that pretty much solved my jetting problems.
Here's the details of everything else I've done up to this point.
