LanceGamma Ralley 2007
Here are some pictures chronicling this years LanceGamma Ralley. This years event was held in Asheville, NC. I hadn't been to Asheville before and the selection of roads was awesome. Thanks to all that made this event happen.
The pictures below are thumbnails. If you would like to see a large view of a picture, just click on it.
Also, on some of the pictures I included the names of the people in the picture. They are listed from left to right.
First stop on Thursday morning at Acme Motorcycles on Hwy 74. Acme was nice enough to offer their services (including pickup) if our trusty steads failed us. Thankfully that didn't happen.
Taking a break after riding Hooker Gap. Left picture (Stan Abercrombie, George Gilbert, Bill Pendergrass, Ken Smith)
Ken Smith's latest build - a very nice 86' RZ500.
Bill taking a break on one of the many overlooks on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
"Hey, where did the road go!" We tried to ride up the parkway to Hwy. 80 on Saturday Morning. Unfortunately, the fog turned us around at Craggy Gardens.
Lunch Saturday at Bill's. Click HERE for more pictures from the lunch gathering.
Back at Acme Motorcycles on Saturday afternoon after riding Hwy 74 to Lake Lure.
A local bar down the street from the hotel was hosting a bike show. We decided to stop in and check it out. There were mostly Harley's and such, but the organizers made us feel welcome and even tried to enter our bikes in the show. We would have stuck around, but didn't want to steal the show with our vintage RZs. You know we would have won!
It wouldn't be a 2 stroke rally without having to wrench a little.
Making another run north on the Blue Ridge Parkway Sunday Morning. We were hoping there would be no fog so we could try Hwy 80.
One of the many spectacular views along the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Not a foggy this time! On to Hwy. 80. (Stan Abercrombie, Kent Owens, and Brian McGuire)
Taking a break alongside Hwy. 80. (Brian, Kent, and George)
The Blue Ridge Parkway once again. This time southbound from Asheville. Dad and I decided to ride one more time Monday morning before heading home. We intended to take a short ride south. However, it was such a nice day and we were having so much fun, we ended up riding all the way to Cherokee, NC where the parkway ends. Our short ride turned out to be about 200 miles.
