I used to work for General Motors Research and Development Lab. Here's me on one of the fun days. Under the hood is an LT5 engine with a "slightly modified" ZF 6-speed manual transmission. Starting from a dead stop the transmission upshifted sequentially and ended up in 3rd gear at about 5000 rpm. That's about 100 mph wheel speed, but the car is barely moving in this shot. Don't try this at home.
