July 14, 2009

Welcome and Call to Order:
- The meeting was called to order by President John Payne @ 7:02
P.M.
June Minutes:
Change to June minutes: Kathy Possley is collecting baby pictures of senior players
for the program, please kindly put name on envelope and forward to Kathy.
Motion to approve the June minutes with stated above
amendment was made by Kathy Russell, 2nd by Rebecca Huskisson,
approved by all.
Treasurer's Report:
- The club's available funding as of July 14, 2009 is approximately
$3705.91
- Sue Chemlik has returned to the treasurer's position, given the
welcome return of her son Chris to the football team.
- Many thanks to Donna Barry for covering this position for the last
couple of months.
- Golf Outing on Monday, August 10th at the Royal Hawk
Country Club will be the club's next fundraiser.
Central Boosters Update:
- Jan Benjamin has stepped down as the Central Booster
representative; given her son Wes will focus his talents and energies on
baseball. Jan thank you for
all your time and efforts, we wish you and Wes success.
- This Central Booster Representative position will remain open
until the fall time frame when the Central Boosters will become active
with the start of the 2009/2010 school year.
- John Payne explained to incoming freshman booster parents the role
of the Central Boosters and how the football and other sport organizations
participate and benefit.
President's Report:
- Coach Fields not in attendance due to personal commitments.
- John Payne relayed the following announcements from Coach Fields
- Mom's Practice – 1 hour in duration will be held on Friday
August 14th in the Stadium (further details will be posted on
the football website).
- 2 a Day Practices – will be held starting August 13th from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Week 2 – August 17th
– 21st will be from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Varsity Trip at Raging Waves in Yorkville, Il. on July 31st
will include the ENTIRE team all levels. Cost of the trip will be $20.00
per player. Bus will leave
at 9:00 a.m. and return to the school at
7:00 p.m.
2009 Programs Update:
- Golf Outing – Tim Russell
- All 19 hole sponsors are committed.
- Dinner menu is planned.
- Help compiling an E-Mail of player's parents is requested.
- Coach and his immediate staff are invited to participate.
- New helmet with player's signatures is requested for the auction.
- 48 golfers were in attendance last year, hoping for the same
number is this year.
- The price for the outing that includes dinner, cart, prizes (the
whole day) will be $95.00.
- Question was asked if any players will be allowed to play and be
in attendance during this event, no players will be in attendance due to
alcoholic beverages being served.
- Spirit Wear – Cathey and Rod DeVries
- Met with spirit wear vendor, waiting for quotation of requested
order.
- Game Programs - Joe
Possley
- Joe stated progress on the 2009 Season Program is approximately
one half completed.
- Secured $2500.00 in ad sales and will provide checks to the
treasurer.
- Kindly remember Senior parents to give your players baby pictures
to Kathy Possley so they can be included in the program.
- If you are planning to purchase personal ads for your player or
the team, please send return the form to Joe.
- August 17th is the photo day for team and varsity
individual photos that will be used for the program.
- Varsity Gold – Todd Striedl
- The Varsity Gold program is scheduled to begin August 14th
and will be one week in duration.
- Each player will be asked to sell 15 cards at $20.00 per card,
totaling $300.00 per player fund raising goal.
- Buttons and Magnets – Kelly Kelley and Dallas Bacaro
- The ÒBack in BlackÓ logo will be used on the buttons and posters.
- Final headcount is needed for each class as well as a list of
player names and jersey numbers.
- Discussion concerning including the whole varsity team on the
magnet versus just the senior players. The magnet is 4 x 6 in size and was stated that it is
not practical to include the whole varsity team photo as player detail is
diminished given the size of the magnet.
- Yard Signs will be ordered with the Spirit Wear program from Sign
O Rama.
Old Business:
- The Black and Orange scrimmage will be held on Friday, August 21st
and volunteers are needed.
- An invitation for the Black and Orange scrimmage will be mailed to
each player's home by the end of July.
- Coach Fields would like the pre-game meals to be changed from
pasta to sub sandwiches, Kathy Russell will investigate making this change
with a St. Charles food vendor.
New Business:
- The last week of football camp will be the week of
July 27th, which will include the Raging Wave outing on July 31st
for all levels.
- John Voytilla announced that the concessions would be open during
the Saturday Jr. Varsity games.
- John Voytilla announced that there is plans to have an announcer
on the Saturday, Jr. Varsity games, if interested in announcing the games,
please contact John.
