Tommy is three months old today! For posterity, I took him to the lactation consultant's shop and used their baby scale. He weighs 16 lbs 7 oz today. Using my sewing measuring tape, I get a length of approximately 25.5 inches. Hopefully I'll experience the "Holes" effect of carrying the piglet up a mountain everyday until the pig grows up and I become extremely strong.
Here are some milestones for this three month birthday.

Here are a couple of playtime pictures. He's in 6-9 month clothes now and we have to buy a new car seat this weekend because he's outgrown the infant seat.

Ok. So maybe he isn't as fussy as I thought he was. Tommy was an extremely good traveler for our trip to Winnipeg. He slept during most of the plane rides and had no problems with his ears. He even sat contentedly in his car seat during takeoff and landing. Over the visit, he grinned at and played with all of the relatives like a professional charmer. He had a few melt-down moments, but not many. All in all, I think he was a very good baby. Of course, everyone loved him! Here are some pictures. Thanks to Uncle Arnie and Aunt Shirley for taking these and sharing them with us.

He was really tired of
visiting and taking pictures by this time!

Sorry about the long wait! We've been in Winnipeg, Canada visiting David's Aunts, Uncles and Great Grandparents. Tommy is the first Great Grandchild, so it was a very special visit. I'll write more tomorrow, and post more pictures, but here's one good one to tide you over. (I'm too tired to do more.)

He's holding his head up much
better now! My mom figured out that he's much happier if you prop him up
on his forearms.
Note the hat. He
doesn't hate it...yet.

Here are some pictures of Easter with my mom, brother and his fiancée. Tommy discovered his hair yesterday. He was petting his head with his left hand all day. We'll see if he remembers it today.
This is his favorite place in
the whole world. He loves the baby in the mirror above him.

My parents and Ben and his girlfriend Erin arrive today! I'm very excited to have company for Easter. Uncle Benny is going to LOVE Tommy. David is out of town for work. Tommy and I missed him yesterday, but we did very well on our own. I'm sure glad my mom will be here the rest of the days and nights David is away.
This is what happens when
David chooses the clothes to dress him in while I'm in the shower...not very
stylish. Neither of us could figure out why he chose to put overalls over
a full sleeper. We both decided that the overalls look kind of girly
anyway, so I guess we'll pass those along to Cindy's Claudia.
This outfit is much more
stylish. Note the Very Hungry Caterpillar socks -- they rattle! You
also may notice he's in a different bouncy seat. We managed to completely
wear the other one out. When I realized the vibrating thingy was broken on
the old one I just about panicked. It's sometimes the only way I can get
him to nap. We bought a new one right away.

He's not floating. He's
leaning on the couch.
Our new game is to
"Shake it. Sh-Sh-Shake it. Shake it like a Polaroid
picture." I know. It's kind of dorky and trendy at the same
time, but it REALLY makes him laugh.

Tommy had his 2 month pediatrician appointment on March 29th. As expected, he's a very healthy baby. Strangely, he was off the growth charts at birth but is now in the 97th percentile for height and weight. He's 14 lbs 6 oz and 24 3/4 inches long. He had to have three shots and was miserable through the next day. Poor Tommy.
He's learned how to roll onto
one side so that he can see things better.
He's also learned where his
fist is -- good for sucking on.
