It looks like our theme for the summer will be simple works great. For this week’s meal, we shopped at Central Market in downtown Lancaster. We got grass-fed beef, top round London Broil from Country Meadows Farm at market, and served it with greens and steamed beets from our farm (Homefields). The kids are really getting into this, and Connor spent the entire meal going on about how local is better. “I like local meals the best.” You really can’t argue with a 7 year old who thinks beets are yummy. Not so much for the girl, but she likes lots of other nutritious things. Connor predicted that pretty soon, all we eat will be local, but Anna was quick to ask, “Can we get local pasta Mommy?” I’ll have to research that one.
